12 – 18 MONTHS PRIOR

[ ] Choose the date. Have a 2nd choice, just in case.

[ ] Pick where you want the ceremony, meet the Matre D', and book caterer.

[ ] Shop for your bridal gown.

[ ] Start assembling guest lists…tell your fiancé’s family to do the same.

[ ] Check out reception sites and reserve one.

[ ] Discuss the wedding budget with all parties concerned.

[ ] Pick your wedding song and the songs you and your new husband should dance to with your parent.

[ ] Decide where you want to go for your honeymoon

6 – 9 MONTHS PRIOR

[ ] Choose Metro Limousines for all your transportation needs

[ ] Choose your attendants and inform them.

[ ] Start your Bridal Registry. Don’t pick very expensive stores that you know your family can not afford.

[ ] Book honeymoon

[ ] Shop for your Bridesmaid’s dresses.

[ ] Select musicians or DJ

[ ] Talk to florists and compare prices

4 – 6 MONTHS PRIOR

[ ] Complete your guest list and Order the wedding invitations and guest book.

[ ] Shop for Wedding Bands.

[ ] Arrange group pricing at nearby hotels for out-of-town guests.

[ ] Shop for cake.

[ ] Order tuxedos

2 – 4 MONTHS PRIOR

[ ] Book honeymoon-make sure you have an up-to-date passport, visa, vaccination, etc.

[ ] Go for marriage license. Check before if you need a blood test.

[ ] Arrange the rehearsal dinner,

[ ] Discuss menu and other details with caterer.

[ ] Buy thank-you gifts for bridal party.

 

4 – 8 WEEKS PRIOR

[ ] Mail invitations at least eight weeks before the wedding. Make the envelopes clear if you want the entire family, or just the husband and wife.

[ ] Select hair and makeup professionals and do trial runs (with headpiece)

[ ] Call jeweler to see when rings will be ready for pick up.

[ ] Write your own Wedding Vows.

[ ] Think of your “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue”

2 – 4 WEEKS PRIOR

[ ] Start seating arrangements. This takes a long time to work out, so do this at the 4 week mark.

[ ] Call caterers, DJ or Band, travel agent, etc. and all service providers to confirm details.

[ ] Send your wedding announcement to local newspapers

1 WEEK PRIOR

[ ] Give caterer the final head count. Make sure you tell them how many children if any, there might be a discount.

[ ] Pack for your honeymoon.

[ ] Make envelopes labeled with all final payments due for the wedding day so you are ready to pay.

[ ] Treat yourself to a massage, manicure, pedicure or facial

[ ] Try to have the Bachlor/Bachlorette parties sometime this weekend. It’s not wise to have it the day before.

THE DAY BEFORE

[ ] Make sure you don’t let the groom see you! (ok, a little old fashion superstition)

[ ] Wedding rehearsal and dinner

[ ] Ask a friend to stay over your house just to talk and de-stress you.

[ ] Get a good night’s sleep, you don’t want bags or dark circles under your eyes.
